IPF GL points calculator — your Goodlift score.
IPF GL (Goodlift) points are the official IPF score that adjusts a total for bodyweight, sex and event. This calculator uses the IPF 2020 coefficients: points equal total × 100 ÷ (A − B·e^(−C·bw)), with A, B and C set per sex, classic or equipped, and full-power or bench. Pick your event, enter bodyweight and total; it computes instantly, no signup.
What your GL score means
Approximate bands for the classic full-power event. The formula is normalised so an elite Golden Standard performance scores about 100 points.
| GL points | Level | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|
| < 50 | Beginner | New competitor; early total |
| 50–70 | Novice | A year or two on the platform |
| 70–85 | Intermediate | A competitive local total |
| 85–100 | Advanced | National-level lifter |
| 100+ | Elite | Roughly on par with the elite reference sample |

GL = total × 100 ÷ (A − B·e^(−C·bw)) Where bw is bodyweight in kg and e is Euler's number. A 600 kg classic total at 90 kg male ≈ 80 points.

What is a good IPF GL score?
On the IPF GL scale, elite lifters score around 100, because the formula is normalised so that a Golden Standard elite performance equals about 100 points. A GL score of 70 to 85 is a strong intermediate to advanced total, and 85 to 100 is national to international level. Beginners typically score below 50.
What is the difference between IPF points and IPF GL?
The old IPF points formula, used through 2019, gave separate scores per event and could not be compared across raw and equipped lifting cleanly. The IPF GL (Goodlift) formula replaced it on 1 May 2020. GL uses an exponential equation with sex, raw/equipped and event-specific constants, and normalises elite performance to about 100 points.
How is the IPF GL score calculated?
IPF GL points equal your total in kilograms times 100, divided by A minus B times e to the power of minus C times bodyweight. A, B and C are official constants that differ by sex, by classic versus equipped lifting, and by full powerlifting versus bench-only. This calculator uses the IPF 2020 coefficient table verbatim.
Is IPF GL better than DOTS or Wilks?
IPF GL is the official scoring formula the International Powerlifting Federation uses at its meets, and it uniquely separates raw, equipped, full-power and bench-only events. DOTS and Wilks are simpler single-polynomial scores popular for cross-federation comparison. Which is best depends on context; for IPF competition, GL is the standard.
Does IPF GL work for bench-only meets?
Yes. The IPF GL 2020 table includes dedicated bench-press coefficients for men and women, in both classic and equipped divisions. Select the bench-press event in this calculator and enter your best bench in kilograms as the total to get a GL score built for bench-only comparison.
