75 Hard, explained honestly.
75 Hard is a 75-day mental-toughness program: two 45-minute daily workouts (one outdoors), a strict diet with no alcohol, a gallon of water, 10 pages of reading, and a daily progress photo. Miss any task and you restart from day 1. It builds discipline — not a specific fitness goal.
Pre-launch. Nishaana hasn't opened, so there's no live 75 Hard tracker or community results yet. This page explains the program honestly so you can decide if it's right for you. Try for free to track your run when the app launches.
Five tasks, every day, for 75 days.
75 Hard was created by Andy Frisella. These are the five daily rules exactly as the program defines them.
- 1Two 45-minute workouts. Every day, two separate 45-minute workouts — and one of them must be outdoors, whatever the weather.
- 2Follow a diet. Pick any structured diet and stick to it exactly. No alcohol and no cheat meals for the full 75 days.
- 3Drink a gallon of water. One gallon (about 3.8 litres) of water each day.
- 4Read 10 pages. Read 10 pages of a non-fiction, self-improvement book daily. Audiobooks don't count under the original rules.
- 5Take a progress photo. One progress photo every single day.
What 75 Hard actually is.
The honest picture — because the challenge is popular, not because it's perfect.
Miss one thing, start over
The defining rule: skip any task on any day and you reset to day 1. It's all-or-nothing by design, which is both the point and the risk.
It's a mental program, not a fitness plan
Its creator describes 75 Hard as a "mental toughness" program. The workouts have no progression logic — it builds discipline, not a specific strength or physique goal.
The rules are rigid, not evidence-based
A fixed one-gallon water target and a no-rest-day, twice-daily workout rule aren't individualised. For some people that's excessive; the plan doesn't adjust to you.
Good fit if…
If a hard, non-negotiable structure motivates you more than flexibility, 75 Hard's rigidity is a feature, not a bug.
The value most people get isn't the exact tasks — it's 75 straight days of showing up, which rebuilds routine and self-trust.
Not for you if…
Anyone new to training — two 45-minute workouts a day with no rest days is a lot of load to add at once.
People with a history of disordered eating or an unhealthy relationship with tracking, photos, or the scale.
Anyone with a medical condition affected by high water intake or heavy exercise — check with a doctor first.
Want structured progress?
If your real goal is strength or a physique change, a progressive program will outperform a discipline challenge.

What is the 75 Hard challenge?
75 Hard is a 75-day mental-toughness program created by Andy Frisella. Each day you complete five tasks: two 45-minute workouts (one outdoors), follow a diet with no alcohol or cheat meals, drink a gallon of water, read 10 pages of non-fiction, and take a progress photo. Miss any task and you restart from day 1.
What happens if you miss a day of 75 Hard?
Under the official rules, missing any single task on any day means you start the entire challenge over from day 1 — there are no partial days or make-ups. This all-or-nothing structure is central to the program and is what makes it a discipline test rather than a flexible fitness plan.
Is 75 Hard good for weight loss or building muscle?
75 Hard can lead to weight loss for many people because of the daily exercise and strict diet, but it isn't designed as a fat-loss or muscle-building program. The workouts have no progressive overload or structure, so for a specific physique or strength goal, a proper training program will serve you better.
Is 75 Hard safe?
For a healthy, already-active person it can be, but it isn't individualised. Two workouts a day with no rest, a fixed one-gallon water target, and daily progress photos can be excessive or unhealthy for beginners, people with certain medical conditions, or anyone prone to disordered eating. Speak to a doctor before starting if in doubt.
