How do you do the conventional deadlift?

Breathing & tempo: Take a large breath into your belly and brace your core before you break the bar off the floor, hold that brace through the concentric pull, and exhale only once you're standing at lockout. Lower the bar back down over about 2–3 seconds under control rather than dropping it — control on the way down builds the same strength you're chasing on the way up.
How should you warm up for the conventional deadlift?
Warm up the hips, hamstrings and upper back with band pull-aparts, glute bridges and a few bodyweight hip hinges before you touch the bar.
