How do you do the plank?

Breathing & tempo: There's no tempo to count in an isometric hold — the goal is continuous, steady breathing through your rib cage for the entire duration. Never hold your breath to grind out extra seconds; if you can't breathe normally without your form breaking down, the hold is already too long and it's time to stop.
How should you warm up for the plank?
A plank needs almost no warm-up on its own, but priming the core first makes the hold more productive: do 30–60 seconds of cat-cow or a set of 8–10 dead bugs to find a neutral spine, then try one or two short 10–15 second practice planks to groove the position before your working sets.
What are the most common plank mistakes?

RPE / RIR: Rate the last 10–15 seconds of the hold, not the whole set — once your hips start to shake or sag, you've hit RPE 9–10 and the set is over. Aim to end most working holds around RPE 8, with a few seconds of clean form still in reserve, rather than grinding to total failure every time.
